Principal responsibilities

• HSBC is seeking a Consultant Specialist with extensive hands-on experience in Routing & Switching, DevOps, and Agile methodologies.
• This role will focus on designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-scale networks while leveraging automation-based solutions.
• The ideal candidate should have deep technical expertise in Cisco networking and a strong understanding of Agile and DevOps practices within a banking and financial environment.

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

• Overall 07+ years of experience in Networking
• Architect, deploy, and manage enterprise network infrastructures, focusing on high availability, security, and compliance.
• Configure and maintain Routing & Switching solutions using Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, and ASR.
• Implement advanced WAN, LAN, and Data Center networking solutions across global HSBC locations.
• Manage and optimize BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VXLAN, SD-WAN, and QoS to ensure seamless global connectivity.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues across multiple HSBC business units.
• Utilize tools like Cisco DNA Center, SolarWinds, Splunk, and Wireshark for real-time network monitoring and optimization.
• Conduct network risk assessments, audits, and ensure compliance with HSBC’s security policies and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Ansible, and Python for automated network provisioning.
• Work in an Agile environment, contributing to Scrum or Kanban teams for iterative network deployments.
• Networking Expertise: Deep knowledge of Cisco Routing & Switching (CCNP/CCIE preferred).
• Protocols & Technologies: Strong hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, HSRP, VRRP, MPLS, VXLAN, SD-WAN.
• Security & Compliance: Experience with firewalls, NAC, and Zero Trust security models.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Experience with Cisco DNA, Sevone, HPNA, Netscout, Wireshark.
• Knowledge of Dev-ops tools like Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git etc.
• Certifications (Preferred): CCNP, AWS Networking, Cisco Devnet.
