Job Overview:
This key role will be crucial in driving a highly effective sourcing strategy aimed at mobilising product newness whilst safeguarding quality and risk. At a very exciting time for the business, where growth across a multiple categories and geographies is targeted, this role will be pivotal. Alongside on-going and new product initiatives, this role will help establish the framework/handbook for QA in Asia becoming standard practice.

Key Responsibilities:
• Work very closely with the broader Product Team, notably Buying, to understand the sourcing strategy and program of new product development underway
• Translate the product development strategy into working timelines for efficient launch – including recommendation on factory selection, material usage and construction (for the look at the right price)
• Understand the EN/Testing requirements that will make up each product development initiative – this includes mentoring, educating and developing those skills and understanding across broader technical, compliance and QC teams
• Help support the development and growth of suppliers that we all agree are key partners to our on-going success/growth
• Lead key risk assessment/management with existing and new products as and when required based on strategy and return/defect rates
• Support/lead where necessary on technical packs for sign off – i.e. assembly instructions
• Sep up and maintain periodically; inspection procedure, report format, risk assessment, supplier control procedure – as well as lead training for suppliers and QC members
• Help support from time-to-time in QC as and when needed to support the broader team
• Geographical remit – Asia (travel required from time-to-time but limited – this may also include visiting the UK to better understand market and internal team goals)

Qualifications :
• 8+ years QA experience in the Furniture Industry
• Very familiar with EU (and US) standards and compliance
• Have excellent working material knowledge; wood, metal, glass, fabric, upholstery, composites & plastics etc…
• Solid manufacturing and production process experience
• Excellent at building and maintaining great supplier relationships
• Good English speaking, reading and writing skills
• Able to understand technical drawings and work with suppliers/production teams
• Good at data analysis and reporting
• Excellent at working on their own initiatives and managing their own time
• Flexible to travel and staying away for business need
