Position reports to: Project Engineer,Project Manage

Primary objective

 Co-ordination of specified tasks within the structural engineering discipline.Responsible for the progress and quality of assigned tasks within the structural area,including the supervision of engineers.

 To ensure all work carried out conforms with agreed codes and practices ,meets all requirements of the contracts specification and ensure all work is carried out within agreed schedules ,budgets and procedures.

 To liaise with client structural team .

Specific Accountabilities

 Overall supervision of structural engineers.

 Technical competence of structural personnel.

 Forecast requirement for structural engineering resources ,and allocate those resources.

 Structural design integrity of work scope and maintenance of standards.

 Interdiscipline communication development.

 Structural group communication development.

 Prepare structural discipline manhour estimates to perform project tasks.

 Manage structural engineering design and any design changes within budget and schedule.

 Evaluate new technology advancements against existing design standards and revise where applicable.

 Promote cost reduction and productivity enhancing initiatives.

 Identify and review new technology development which could be applicable in providing more cost effective facilities.

 Attend meetings with clients and be responsible for maintaining the meeting minutes.

 Prepare weekly structural progress and expenditure reports on a project specific basis.

 Quality Assurance –Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system.

 Safety –Responsible for personal safety safe working practices.Understand and follow HSE procedures.

Matching Indicators

 Bachelor's degree or above in structural Engineering or equivalent.

 Minimum 8 years direct structural engineering experience in offshore Oil and Gas industry.

 A thorough knowledge of the codes and standards and a good understanding of offshore engineering practices.

 Ability to manage projects.

 Fluent in English.
