Lead Electrical Engineer

Position reports to: Project Engineer,Project Manager

Primary objective

 Co-ordination of specified tasks within the electrical engineering discipline.Responsible for the progress and quality of assigned tasks within the electrical area,including the supervision of engineers.

 To ensure all work carried out conforms with agreed codes and practices ,meets all requirements of the contracts specification and ensure all work is carried out within agreed schedules ,budgets and procedures.

 To provide innovative and cost effective solutions to clients for operating problems and capacity constraints in their existing oil and gas and petrochemical operations.

 To liaise with client process team .

Specific Accountabilities

 Ensure work is carried out competently and effectively,within time and budget constraints ,and that project objectives are satisfied.

 Overall supervision of electrical engineers ,designers and technical personnel in the execution of the project.

 Ensure integrity of workscope and that all work is carried our in accordance with applicable codes and standards.

 Facilitate and develop a productive and cohesive team .

 Maintain and facilitate an awareness of HS&E across the discipline within assigned project.

 Maintain and facilitate an awareness of HS&E in Design across the discipline within assigned project.

 Promote the understanding and application of risk management techniques within the discipline.

 Ensure electrical discipline personnel consistently work within the Quality Management System.

 Monitor and maintain electrical engineering estimating norms.

 Develop and promote initiatives to improve cost effectiveness and productivity on projects.

 Manage project discipline resource requirements.

 Discipline and inter discipline communication development.

 Prepare electrical cost,time and resource requirement estimates on assigned projects.

 Identify and review new technologies development which may provide more efficient and cost effective solutions.

 Manage design change within project budget and schedule framework.

 Attend meetings with clients and be responsible for maintaining the meeting minutes.

 Prepare weekly electrical progress and expenditure reports on a project specific basis.

 Quality Assurance –Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system.

 Safety –Responsible for personal safety safe working practices.Understand and follow HSE procedures.

Matching Indicators

 Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering (Electrical)

 Minimum 8 years direct electrical engineering experience in offshore Oil and Gas industry.

 Ability to manage projects.

 Fluent in English.
