Your Responsibilities
- Maintain, optimize, and enhance the internal annuities renewal system (Access/SQL Server) for reliable operations
- Develop new features and update existing VBA/T-SQL code to meet evolving business and client needs
- Develop and maintain complex SQL queries for data retrieval, reporting, automation, and batch data updates
- Collaborate with technical and cross-functional teams to support internal and external system integration (e.g. API connection with client IPMS)
- Troubleshoot and resolve business user issues related to processes, data, and performance of Access system, including email and document generation (e.g. PDF, Excel, XML, CSV)
- Provide technical support and respond promptly to client and user requests coming from both technical and non-technical stakeholders in English and Chinese
- Participate in requirements gathering, testing, and deployment of new features and process improvements
- Identify and drive process improvements, workflow automation, and user experience enhancements
- Support future migration to a web-based .NET/C# platform, including requirements analysis, documentation/knowledge transfer, and development
- Any other task aligned with the global strategy, job mission and skill set required
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s (or Master’s degree) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related technical field
- Strong experience with MySQL/SQL Server (incl. stored procedures) or solid understanding of relational database design, table structures, and datatypes
- Strong programming skills and self-learning ability
- Experience designing, developing, and supporting both the front end (forms, reports, user interface) and back end (database structure, queries, automation) of business applications, ideally in Microsoft Access or a comparable environment
- Proficiency in handling data for file generation in multiple formats (Excel, PDF, XML, CSV, etc.)
- Strong analytical/critical thinking skills and attention to details
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Full business competency in both English and Chinese (written and spoken)
- Ability to manage multiple requests, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing requirements
- Experience or strong interest in .NET/C# (web-based development) is highly desirable for future migration projects
- Experience working in a multinational or cross-cultural team environment
