We are looking for a Teacher of Dance to join our School, who has the enthusiasm and passion for working with students, and with responsibility both for the teaching of dance and for developing the School's dance tradition. The position will commence immediately, the initial contract will be for a period of two years, and the contract is renewable.

Candidates are expected to:

• have a bachelor degree or above (Major in Dance preferred);
• have more than 2 years of relevant teaching experience (preferred);
• be able to teach International dance styles in an International school through Early Years to Grade 8;
• be able to teach in English (complete fluency not required);
• have ability to deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated dance curriculum for all students;
• contributes to the co-curricular programme and whole-school activities in a committed and enthusiastic manner;
• work co-operatively and supportively with all members of staff
• be able to embrace the PYP ideology

Job Description:

• be aware of content and pedagogy in dance within school context
• plan and prepare lessons for dance class according to specified scope and sequence documents
• maintain class records
• conduct classes according to IB standards of practice
• possess class management skills
• have ethos of respect for diverse ethnic communities
• plan collaboratively with other Performing Arts for progressive music development across grades
• Collaborate with Homeroom Teachers to prepare for assemblies, special events, Winter Concert
• collaborate with all relevant departments for special events planning
• attend all relevant meetings as directed by school and department
• be prepared to enrich the school culture by volunteering for committees, events support etc.

This includes but is not limited to the job responsibilities involved with the position.
