Major Responsibilities and Objectives:

  • Overall responsibility for the smooth retail design development of new projects and operation centers.
  • Ensures the properties deliver first class retail design management and recommends improvement where necessary.
  • Receive briefs and directions from Director Retail and GMs, and analysis how best to provide a better built environment to enhance the competitiveness of SPROPS in the market.
  • Takes part in ad hoc and new projects for the improvement of the properties as and when required.
  • Maintains good working relationships with relevant consultants and architecture firms.

Major Tasks & Activities:

  • Partner and collaborate with retail consultants, reatil brands and architecture firms, also to understand the requests from GMs on potential improvement plans to the new projects and existing assets, provide further analysis and strategic plans on demonstrate how best to execute the improvement works;
  • Participate in retail projects’ planning from conceptual design, schematic, detail design to construction drawings, review of all drawings and materials, coordinate with QS in preparation of tendering and monitor the whole tendering process;
  • Responsible for large-scale renovation / modification works of existing retail projects, supervise the progress of renovation projects, quality and construction safety; Review the drawings at all stages and ensure all works are carried out in accordance with mandatory regulations;
  • Responsible for retail master plan and management, supervise the development of projects, including but not limiting to the design, quality, schedule, construction safety, cost control, practical completion inspection, and to ensure that all projects complete within budget and schedule, achieve the highest standard;
  • Responsible for retail design development, provide reasonable arrangement of resources allocation for each projects;
  • Responsible for clarifying and enhancing the retail design development, implement the company’s formulated standards and processes effectively;
  • Advise to the local team on resolving and managing all technical problems occur on site;
  • Advise to the local team in engaging qualified and suitable contractors and consultants for specific projects, also to manage and evaluate the performance of engaged external parties;
  • Advise to the local team to coordinate, communicate and supervise all contractors, designers, and other consultants during preparation and construction processes, rectify all defects until the project is handed over;
  • To coordinate between cross disciplines and functions among SPROPS

Skills, Qualifications and Experience Requirements

  • University degree, preferably in Architecture, Civil Engineering, MEP Engineering, Project Management
  • Minimum of 10 years’ working experience of development and/or project management on complex building projects, understand landmark mixed-use commercial complex real estate projects development full cycle process;
  • Familiar with relevant building regulations, industry and local standards, project development processes and management procedures;
  • Strong professional background in architecture, construction, structure, MEP engineering in real estate projects;
  • Experience in efficiently handling external contractors and consultants to ensure that the projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standard;
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, able to maintain personal integrity professionally, with strong sense of responsibility;
  • Comprehensive project planning and management skills.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua) Extensive experience work in the Chinese Mainland
