Position Overview

This role is responsible for managing international trade compliance risks across multi-country operations. The position works closely with global stakeholders, regional operations teams,customs brokers, and external authorities to ensure regulatory alignment and audit readiness.

The working language of this role is English. All communication, reporting, system operations, and cross-regional collaboration are conducted in English.

Key Responsibilities

1.Global Trade Compliance Governance

• Ensure import/export activities comply with international trade regulations
• Perform advanced HS classification and origin determination
• Evaluate export control and licensing requirements
• Maintain global product compliance master data (HS / ECCN /Origin / Duty)
• Assess FTA eligibility and preferential treatment structures
• Support complex trade structures (multi-leg, bonded,transshipment, e-commerce)

2.Export Controls & Sanctions Risk Management

• Conduct global sanctions screening (OFAC, EU, UN and local regimes)
• Review restricted party and denied entity lists
• Perform end-use and end-user due diligence
• Assess geopolitical exposure and sensitive trade lanes
• Escalate and mitigate compliance risk where necessary

3.Cross-Regional Operational Oversight

• Review customs declarations and supporting documentation
• Ensure data consistency across ERP and customs systems
• Coordinate with brokers across multiple jurisdictions
• Manage post-clearance audits and regulatory inquiries
• Support AEO / compliance certification programs

4.Compliance Framework & Control Design

• Develop and enhance internal trade compliance SOPs
• Design preventive compliance workflows and validation mechanisms
• Strengthen master data governance for regulatory accuracy
• Deliver compliance training to cross-functional teams (in English)
• Prepare executive-level compliance reporting

5.Strategic Business Partnership

• Provide compliance advisory for new markets and trade routes
• Support commercial teams with risk-based guidance
• Evaluate compliance impact on business models
• Contribute to global compliance transformation initiatives

Qualifications

Mandatory

• Bachelor’s degree or above (International Trade / Law / Supply Chain preferred)
• Minimum 3 years in international trade compliance within a global or regional organization
• Strong understanding of:
• HS classification principles
• Rules of origin
• Export control frameworks
• International sanctions regimes
• Experience handling customs audits or regulatory inspections
• Fluent English communication (verbal and written)
• Ability to lead discussions and draft structured documentation in English

Preferred

• Experience supporting APAC multi-country operations
• Familiarity with ERP platforms (SAP preferred)
• Experience in building compliance control frameworks
• Exposure to AEO or advanced compliance certification environments
• Experience in cross-functional global collaboration

Language & Communication Requirement
