Key Responsibilities
Support for China EDU (electrical drive unit) test and ETAG service
resource exploring and assessment
• Principally responsible for the technical delivery of EDU functional,
durability & attribute validation testing, ensuring validation team are
delivering to the required data quality and delivery standards
• Coach the external test service provider and ensure tests are executed to
correct procedures & operating conditions including approval to proceed
on high value DV tests
• Manage test service provider through JLR toolkit
• Consultation for the creation, maintenance and accuracy of physical test
plans (DVP), and technical compliance in support of unit programme
gateways.
• Interface with customers of the department effectively. Lead interaction
with customers and suppliers, resolving any conflicts and ensuring
appropriate escalation of issues for resolution as necessary
• Lead & support relevant technical reviews and issue resolution
through established processes and standard JLR tools (AIMS/8D)
• Compile & technically review technical reports for DV tests as
evidence for component and system sign-off, and communicate clearly to all
stakeholders.
• Develop and own functional status for allocated systems, in support of
overall DVP and engineering signoff
• Support for Engines, EDU, Transmission, Driveline related test activities
driven by cost or quality improvement/investigation
Experience | Skills required
• Strong technical background with knowledge of
EDU (electrical drive unit) engineering, components and systems.
• Experience of component/system design and validation.
• Understanding of design principles and the application of quality tools
within a product engineering environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate at all levels within business.
• Able to prioritise & derive workload and lead issue resolution both
individually and contribute/lead a cross-functional team.
• Experience within automotive product design & development
environment.
• Expert knowledge of problem solving and quality tools is essential,
together with a structured, logical and objective based approach to all
aspects of their role.
• Highly self-motivated and able to act on initiative.
• Strong MS Office skills.
• Ability to coach the team, inspire technical curiosity and depth of
understand to raise the overall proficiency of the team.
• Experience and proficiency in data processing and control system
software.
• Good oral and writing English level.
