Responsibilities
Maintenance, preparation and cleaning of laboratory equipment.
Organization and maintenance of efficient storage systems for equipment
and materials.
Preparation and provision of equipment for lessons.
Maintaining equipment levels in each laboratory and delivering and collecting equipment for practicals.
The management and setting up of specialist ICT equipment e.g. data loggers.
Working with students in setting up equipment and the supervision of small group work at IBDP level.
Preparation of advanced subject specific requirements e.g. preparing standard solutions and agar plates.
Inventory control including preparing lists of replacements, purchasing, stocktaking and maintaining a database of resources.
Reprographic work as required, including upkeep of displays as needed.
The monitoring and reviewing with the Lead Lab Technician of safe practice in the laboratories and in the preparation area.
