JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose
In liaison with academic staff, contribute to the effective running of Coventry University’s BA Product Design provision by providing technical and practical support to students and staff within the Pilot Zone’s making workshop and in CUC classrooms.
Facilitate the design, development and making of individual components and assemblies, providing specialist expertise, instruction, demonstration, and support to realise projects as required.
Take responsibility for the safety and supervision of students working in workshops, providing an agreed programme of skills induction (using band saw, pillar drill, lathe, belt sander and other standard workshop equipment) and assessment of competence of students and staff in the use of particular equipment where such competence assessments are deemed necessary.

2. Main duties and responsibilities
1. Contributes to the development and implementation of training programmes in assigned areas.
2. Provides a full programme throughout the academic year of skills induction for students and staff (as required).
3. Provides skilled assistance and guidance to students (and staff) in technical aspects of their work in designated areas
4. Ensures efficient operation of technical support by planning, determining priorities, and resolving difficulties.
5. Liaises with academic staff to determine timetabling and use of workshops
6. Organises an agreed maintenance programme for equipment
7. Purchases required consumables as agreed
8. Controls and maintains inventory records/stocktaking in designated areas.
9. Contributes to safe disposal of surplus materials.
10. Ensures that the financial implications of using or developing resources in the workshops are fully evaluated, recommending alternative options where appropriate.
11. Provides supervision to students and staff working with high risk equipment, ensuring that students and staff are certified to undertake such work, and ensuring at all times safe practice.
12. Ensure methods and systems of working in workshops are safe in accordance with statutory Health and Safety regulations.

任职资格：

良好的口头和书面沟通能力。良好的读写和计算能力。
必须准备好贡献，并发展车间/制作技能
5，有在大型和小型工业生产环境中工作的经验
