•Lead and develop team members responsible for all technical aspects associated with trait integration activities.
•Designing research and implementing protocols to accomplish trait integration of breeding lines and hybrids.
•Monitoring the converting process timely to make sure it is accomplished with high efficiency and quality.
•Designing and managing field trials focused on characterization and evaluation of converted lines and hybrids for the target traits.
•Interacting across various organizations within CSI/Bayer to coordinate TI related works and to communicate results in a timely manner.
•Management business operations, including operational and capital budgets for TI related projects.
•Developing strong ties with Bayer global TI teams and domestic institutions or experts to advance CSI TI strategy in the right direction.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
•PhD degree in Plant Breeding or Genetics with at least 2 years’ experience designing and conducting field-oriented breeding experiments; or PhD in Agronomy or related field, with at least 3 years’ plant breeding work experience; or MSc in plant breeding with at least 7 years’ experience in breeding or trait integration related areas is acceptable.
•Excellent knowledge of plant genetics and plant breeding with preference towards row crops.
•Excellent knowledge of plant genome,molecular genetics,and marker assisted breeding.
•Able to develop and lead a medium-sized group effectively.
•Excellent comprehension of experimental design and implementation of field trials; ability to effectively manipulate, summarize and interpret large data sets based on phenotypic characterization of germplasm.
•Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
•Excellent English communication skills.
•Greenhouse management experience is a plus.
•Flexibility for frequent travel. In this role, travel may average 25% but can be up to 75% in busier months.
