Objective of job:
 Function as the interface between our German headquarters of MO/EBPD and RD/KEW and function departments in GRC/RD, GRC/MP and BBAC.
 Responsible for material and process release in China, issue release based on test results and presented samples in accordance with German headquarters.
 Responsible for material sampling card release (material PPAP).
 Comprehensive knowledge of DBL, MBN in metallic material, corrosion protection and joining technology.
 Accompany with function departments and support for material and process related tasks, e.g., provide release background, special highlights, potential risk etc.
 Cooperate with other function departments and keep the smooth collaboration as well as issue reporting, solving in time.
 Support MBGC & BBAC material localization activity.
 Strive for continuous improvement either from release process perspective or from cost saving (e.g. new material or new material supplier).
Education:
• University degree in material sciences or related engineering majors, with background in metallic material or equivalent. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
• Working experience international, cross functional teams. At least 3 years’ working experience in automotive industry.
• Working experience in material areas such as metal, coating, joining, etc. (experience in material qualification is beneficial).
Special Knowledge:
• Profound knowledge of material engineering e.g., metallic material, coating on metal and joining/adhesive technology etc.
• Good understanding of material qualification for the application in vehicle, familiar with material testing methods.
• Intercultural competence and communication skills with cross function departments, joint venture partners and global headquarters.
• High commitment for premium vehicles of Mercedes-Benz and quality.
• Self-responsible working attitude and initiative.
• Open mind and strong learning skills for new technologies.
• Good skills in work planning, problem solving and reporting.
• Willingness to travel domestically and abroad.
• Computer skills are mandatory. Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office.
• Fluent English and Chinese skills, German language skill is a plus.
