Objective of Job
• Ensure sufficient capacity & supplier readiness of the Asian suppliers in order to secure timely delivery of right parts towards BBAC and MB plants worldwide including related project management.
• Ensure supplier evaluation, logistic audits, capacity verification audits, supplier performance tests to assess the supplier’s status according to VDA standards. Enhance the supplier’s performance to meet BBAC/MB logistical and capacity requirements.
• Continuously improvement of processes and methods within the team and related functions.
• Build the team relation with global as well as hub supplier managers to tackle complex situations of capacity management related to multiple car and powertrain plants. Also support global supplier managers to solve the capacity crisis arising at Asian suppliers by systematic task force management.
• Cross functional teamwork with Quality Engineers, MRP controllers, R&D & Buyers to ensure suppliers meet all the MB project milestones with respect to EDI set up, production & capacity planning, warehouse, production process management and transport management.
• Use MB standard methods and systems to manage the supplier readiness information and also use reporting tools to manage timely report to higher management and headquarters.
• Trigger escalations during bottlenecks and whenever supplier capacity under crisis. Formulate and lead cross functional and multi-national task force team to solve the bottleneck and capacity crisis not to affect MB Carline production plan.
• Exhibit team spirit/flexibility with colleagues/commodity supplier managers to support each other in day to day work.
Task Description
• The management, motivation and development of staff using target agreements and performance appraisals, founded on our mission statement and corporate values, and provision of purposeful internal communications in order to achieve the agreed objectives. Ensuring that the necessary training appropriate to the needs of individual employees and the tasks assigned to them is provided.
• Informing subordinated employees about the relevant provisions and instructing them to comply with the provisions. Ensuring that they are implemented properly. Hiring, training and developing of the team
• Assist with developing a strategy for the overarching organizational unit and, building on this, develop and agree strategies for implementation, advance your own role and ensure implementation.
• Steer your own role on the basis of targets and key performance indicators and safeguard reporting capacity in partnership with the functional areas.
• Planning and Controlling: Plan, agree and manage the budget and headcount in accordance with key performance indicators. Monitor compliance with budget targets, introduce and supervise cost-cutting measures where necessary, in liaison with the line manager, and develop an awareness of costs among staff.
• Propose and introduce corrective Logistics measures to stabilize assigned supplier processes continuously (incl. Task force management).
• Supplier management: Support the internal and external suppliers with the use of preventive CAPA tools, to ensure the continuous supply from all relative suppliers.
• Handling of complaint internal and at suppliers: Ensure handling of complaints, internal and at suppliers, define measures for sustainable troubleshooting with the involved parties and monitor the implementation of these measures. If necessary, set target agreements with the suppliers and monitor them. Ensure review of processes, internal and at suppliers, by means of logistic audits.
• Represent Supplier Readiness and Capacity Management - Logistics in the relevant forums, coordinate and report on activities with quality and purchasing for assigned commodity. Fulfill all reporting functions up to E2 level (e.g. capacity status report, delivery status reports, shortage reports etc)
Qualification
• Studies in Business with focus on Logistics/ Supply chain management within the fields of business and engineering, industrial engineering or technical education background.
• Minimum of 5-8 years working experiences in Logistics Planning and/or Supplier Readiness Logistics / Supplier Capacity Management, Production Program Planning, knowledge of automotive industry.
• Fluent written and spoken English language skills.
• Know-how and experience in the use of logistic relevant systems.
• Willingness of frequent traveling.
