Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)
In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects.

You will be mainly accountable for:
- Technical contribution. Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments. Provides technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities. Prepares project documentation within one’s scope of deliverables.Customer and Sales. Finalizes ‘fail-safe philosophy’, “secure-by-design principles”, and other key concepts as part of kick-off and design freeze meetings. Participates in project meetings and resolves any outstanding technical issues to meet contractual obligations. Assists in preparing proposal / presentation of engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.).
- Technical leadership and knowledge shar in Applies basic design thinking / design for excellence concepts in projects. Utilizes checklists to perform design verification according to applicable standards and engineering guidelines. Contributes and shares experiences in workshops related to engineering design, tools, and processes. Shares best practices / lessons-learned documentation across different projects and disciplines. Processes and tools. Uses standard processes and tools applicable to one’s area of responsibility. Ensures that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements. Reports processes and tools inefficiencies and suggests improvements ideas. Risk and opportunity management. Supports technical risk assessments and implements resulting actions for their projects.
- Contract management. Ensures that Bill of Materials (BOM) for the project meets contractual obligations and project gross margin requirements, by not generating Project Left-Over Material (PLOM). Identifies and implements variation requests to support contract claims based on the approval from project manager. Planning and control. Follows work plans and cost estimates provided by the project manager. Ensures quality and timely implementation of projects within the targeted cost. Supply Chain management. Collaborates with the Supply Chain function and the Project Manager(s) to meet the contractual obligations. Manufacturing and Testing. Coordinates with Manufacturing and Testing functions to ensure the technical solutions are appropriately manufactured/ staged and tested. Updates the engineering deliverables as-built. Commissioning and Service Coordinates with commissioning / service functions to ensure the designs are appropriately installed and commissioned and updates the engineering deliverables post installation and commissioning (if applicable as part of the contract).
Qualifications for the role
- More than 5 years of experience in automation engineering and on-site service, with some project management experience preferred. Familiar with the production process of public facilities such as thermal power plants and water/sewage treatment plants, with relevant engineering implementation experience, and preferably with digital engineering implementation experience.
- Outgoing and optimistic personality, strong communication affinity, adaptable to team and resource collaboration. Ability to independently solve problems and have strong resilience in the face of challenges.
- Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking skills, as well as proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese. Bachelor's degree or above, background in automation, mechatronics integration
