Test Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Collect and understand the tester requirement from the requestor.

2. Investigate and search for features, drive for a solution with discussion/reviewing cross teams.

3. Finish the detailed design report.

4. Follow the design report to purchase the relative equipment and fixture design.

5. Work out the test algorithm and assist with software engineer to complete the software coding.

6. Setup the test bench.

7. Fixture and electrical verification.

8. Software logic verification.

9. Follow the company policy and complete the qualification test.

10. Draft the work instruction for the test bench.

11. Improving and optimizing the test system to be more robust and drive cost reduction projects.

12. Normal maintenance.

13. An ESGP is co-developed and pursued.

14. Department information systems, records, reports and metrics are accurate and generated on time.

15. Company policy is followed regarding all safety, environmental, quality and ergonomic requirements.

16. Company Technology Control Plan, IP protection and Export Compliance requirements are understood and properly followed.

17. Relevant SOX, IT and Quality procedures are understood and properly executed.

18. Responsible for maintaining a quality work environment.

19. Maintains a positive attitude and is cooperative in working with others.

20. Adapts readily to changes in work caused by new requirements and/or situations.

21. A high standard of ethics, professionalism, competency, and quality is established and maintained.

22. Role model for Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Employee Satisfaction and Business Results.

23. Support special projects as required.

24. Report on projects and make recommendations to upper Management.

Qualification & Requirements:

1. MS in Electrical Engineering, Optics or Physics. Advanced educational qualifications will be a plus. Candidates having suitable professional experience with a BS degree will be considered.

2. 8+ years’ optical/ test relevant industry experience.

3. Strong knowledge of optical test system and experience in optics or system network.

4. Experience in hardware/software integration is strongly preferred.

5. Experience with problem analysis and resolution.

6. Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with others.

7. Ability to recommend and implement improvements.

8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

9. Experience with networked PC based computer systems.

10. Good understanding of basic electronics required.

11. Knowledge of various protocols (USB, I2C, SPI, GPIB) preferred.

12. Understanding of high-speed digital data concepts is a plus.

13. Other programming skill sets such as setting up and interfacing a database, or numerical analysis is a plus.

14. Statistical tools such as Minitab or equivalent, familiar with Gage R&R, statistical process control etc.

15. Ability to handle multiple priorities involving external and internal priorities.

16. Ability to excel in a cross-organizational, cross cultural, global team environment.

17.Handle special assignments promptly and professionally.
