As part of our global expansion strategy, we are looking to onboard a China-based Fashion Sourcing & Trend Buying Agent who can connect us with the best suppliers, spot emerging fashion trends, and help us build high-demand collections across categories like clothing, accessories, belts, bags, shoes, and more.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and fashion-forward sourcing professional to act as our on-ground agent and buyer in China. This individual will be responsible for end-to-end product development and procurement — from identifying new styles and vendors to negotiating pricing and delivery timelines. You’ll act as the eyes and ears of Modelle in the Chinese fashion and manufacturing market, with full ownership of ensuring our products are trendy, commercially viable, and meet our quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Product Sourcing: Find and develop relationships with reliable manufacturers and suppliers for apparel, bags, belts, footwear, and accessories.

Trend Analysis & Buying: Conduct detailed fashion trend research (runways, social media, influencers, streetwear) and identify winning styles for the Modelle customer.

Sample Development: Coordinate sample production for new items, oversee prototyping, and ensure alignment with the brand’s quality and aesthetic standards.

Negotiation & Costing: Handle price negotiations, MOQ discussions, delivery schedules, and production timelines with vendors.

Market Research: Monitor competitors, export trends, and best-selling global items to support your sourcing recommendations.

Quality Control & Logistics: Ensure proper QC before shipments and coordinate with our Australian warehouse and logistics team for smooth delivery.

Reporting: Provide regular updates on new styles, upcoming trends, sourcing status, and sampling progress.

Ideal Candidate

Experience: Minimum 3 years in a sourcing/buying role for fashion or lifestyle products, with proven factory/vendor network in China.

Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of global and modest fashion trends, fabrics, trims, and accessories.

Skills: Exceptional negotiation, communication, and organisation skills. Ability to manage multiple suppliers and timelines.

Language: Fluency in Mandarin and English is essential.

Technology: Able to use WeChat, Excel, and sourcing platforms (1688, Alibaba, Taobao, etc.) effectively.

Bonus: Experience working with Australian brands or eCommerce companies is highly valued.

样品开发： 协调新产品打样、原型确认，并确保符合品牌审美与质量要求。

价格与成本谈判： 负责议价、起订量协商、交期安排及生产时间表沟通。

市场研究： 跟踪竞争品牌、出口趋势及国际热销单品，为采购决策提供支持。

质量控制与物流协调： 保证发货前质检合格，并与澳大利亚物流仓库团队对接，确保交付顺畅。

定期汇报： 定期更新新品开发、采购进度、样品状态及趋势分析等信息。
