General Accountant (Hangzhou, China)

Today, we are actively expanding our infrastructure in China, leveraging a strong network of local partners and manufacturers in Hangzhou and other key regions.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented General Accountant with solid knowledge of Chinese accounting standards and tax regulations.
The ideal candidate is able to maintain accurate financial control, prepare reports, work with export declarations, and ensure compliance with both local and international requirements.
Strong communication skills and proficiency in English are essential for cooperation with banks, auditors, tax authorities, and our international team.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accounting records and reporting in accordance with PRC GAAP and Hangzhou tax requirements;
Process daily financial transactions, including reviewing purchase and sales documents, entering income and expenses, and preparing journal entries;
Ensure timely reconciliation and monthly closing of accounting periods;
Prepare and submit tax returns (VAT, corporate income tax, and other applicable taxes);
Handle invoice issuance, liaise with tax authorities, and support audits;
Coordinate with banks to open accounts, submit documents, and manage daily banking operations;
Prepare monthly balance sheets and profit & loss statements, including basic financial analysis for management;
Manage VAT refund procedures related to export operations;
Handle SAFE (State Administration of Foreign Exchange) declarations for export proceeds and foreign remittances;
Ensure correct documentation for Customs and relevant bureaus.
Administrative Support
Assist with HR and administrative processes (posting vacancies, onboarding, offboarding);
Manage procurement and stock of office supplies;
Organize and archive financial records and business contracts;
Provide general administrative support including expense reimbursements and stakeholder communication;
Support external audits and cooperate with auditors.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience;
Strong knowledge of PRC GAAP and Chinese tax regulations;
Experience in VAT, export declarations, and tax compliance;
Previous experience in a trading/export company is an advantage;
Proficiency in English (spoken and written);
Strong Excel and financial documentation skills;
Familiarity with accounting systems (Kingdee, SAP, 1C, or similar);
Attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to adapt to change;
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
