Background

General Manager, North China

Job Purpose

The General Manager (GM) will lead the execution of strategic initiatives across transport-related operations in China—including safety, operations, sales, maintenance, and quality control. Reporting to the China CEO and JV Boards, the GM will be based in Beijing (subject to change).

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic & Operational Leadership

· Drive regional strategy and translate long-term goals into actionable plans.

· Oversee daily operations and sales to meet business objectives.

· Lead communication of company vision, values, and strategies.

2. Financial Management

· Achieve P&L targets and optimize cost drivers.

· Review financial and operational reports to identify improvement areas.

· Manage budgets and capital expenditures.

3. Business Development

· Assess market opportunities and develop annual business plans.

· Execute strategies to grow market share and profitability.

4. Stakeholder Engagement

· Maintain strong relationships with JV partners, customers, suppliers, government, and community groups.

· Resolve escalated issues and ensure customer satisfaction.

5. Safety & Compliance

· Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

· Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies.

6. People Management

· Develop staffing plans and manage recruitment, performance, and development.

· Partner with HR on succession planning and employee engagement.

7. Process & Risk Management

· Drive continuous improvement and strategic alignment.

· Implement Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Controls, and Business Continuity frameworks.

8. Sustainability & ESG

· Integrate ESG principles into operations to support sustainable development.

· Ensure alignment with Group sustainability standards and local regulations.

Requirements

1. Education & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field.

· 7–10 years of experience in transport-related industries (preferably taxi/logistics).

· Experience working in China is preferred.

2. Skills & Competencies

· Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and financial acumen.

· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional teams.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

· Fluent in Chinese and English.

3. Other Requirements

· Frequent travel to company sites and new market locations.

· High ethical standards and strong reporting capabilities.

· Deep understanding of transport operations, market dynamics, and performance metrics.

· Internal Controls & Compliance

· Ensure effective operations and safeguard company resources.

· Enforce safety procedures and manage operational risks.

· Ensure full compliance with Chinese laws and CDG policies (e.g., labor, anti-corruption, data protection, environmental).

要求

1. 教育背景与工作经验

· 运营、商业、工程、金融或相关领域的学士学位。

· 7-10年运输相关行业经验(最好有出租车/物流经验)。

· 有在中国工作经历者优先。

2. 技能与能力

· 强大的领导能力、战略思维和财务头脑。

· 优秀的沟通和利益相关者管理技能。

· 管理多重优先事项和领导跨职能团队的能力。

· 精通Microsoft Office(Excel、PowerPoint、Word)。

· 中英文流利。

3. 其他要求

· 经常出差到公司所在地和新市场。

· 高标准的职业道德和强大的报告能力。

· 对运输操作、市场动态和性能指标有深刻理解。
