PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Under general supervision, the Library Teaching Assistant’s primary roles are to perform a wide variety of tasks connected with the maintenance and daily operations of the school library, and support the digital and media literacy initiatives. The Library Teaching Assistant is responsible for working under the guidance of the Head of Library to assist in ensuring a strong connection between the library, classroom programs, cross-divisional curriculum, and the school community within the scope and vision of the wider school library goals and in conjunction with the school’s strategic initiatives.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction and guidance of, and in collaboration with the Head of Library:

- Fosters a creative, flexible, inviting, and engaging library environment so that the school library is an essential part of the school and learning community. 造富有创意、灵活、有吸引力的图书馆环境,使学校图书馆成为学校和学习社区的重要组成部分;
- Provides active supervision for students in the library and offers proactive support with library and literacy-related skills, such as use of databases, research sites, etc.为图书馆的学生提供积极的监督,并就图书馆和识字相关技能(例如使用数据库、研究网站等)提供积极支持;
- Enforces the library rules, expectations, protocols, procedures, and policies with students, staff, and parents.与学生、教职员工和家长一起执行图书馆的规则、期望、协议、程序和政策;
- Develops and maintains a library collection that is developmentally appropriate, high-quality literature for read aloud, and is appropriate to the curriculum, the learners, and instructional strategies of the school community.开发和维护适合发展的高质量文献大声朗读的图书馆馆藏,并适合学校社区的课程、学习者和教学策略;
- Organizes and promotes library events and activities.组织和推广图书馆活动。
- Collects and analyses data to improve library functionality and outcomes. 收集和分析数据以改进图书馆的功能和结果;
- Initiates advocacy of library services through effective public relations and communication channels通过有效的公共关系和沟通渠道发起图书馆服务的宣传;
- Provides and plans professional development for staff on library tools and resources as coordinated with the Head of Library与图书馆馆长协调,为员工提供和规划图书馆工具和资源方面的专业发展;
- Promotes the ethical use of information: copyright, fair use, and licensing of intellectual property促进信息的道德使用:版权、合理使用和知识产权许可;
- Maintains, designs, sets up and takes down displays based on proposed themes; interchanges the displays regularly根据建议的主题维护、设计、设置和拆除展示;定期更换显示器;
- Recommends and creates bibliographies of children's literature to match units of inquiry for teachers and other specific interests推荐和创建儿童文学参考书目,以匹配教师和其他特定兴趣的探究单元;
- Engages in ongoing professional networking, professional learning communities, and professional development opportunities in support of librarianship, IB, and related skills参与持续的专业网络、专业学习社区和专业发展机会,以支持图书馆、IB 和相关技能;
- Stays current in professional practices, educational research, and maintains active professional memberships.在专业实践、教育研究方面保持最新状态,并保持活跃的专业会员资格;
- Provides Teaching Assistance and Support for the Digital and Media Literacy teachers as assigned为指定的数字和媒体素养教师提供教学援助和支持;
- Collaborates with the Digital and Media Literacy teachers to facilitate transition and a coherent approach to library skills across all grade levels与数字和媒体素养教师合作,促进所有年级的图书馆技能过渡和连贯方法;

- Recommends children's literature to match units of inquiry for teachers and specific interests of parents and children推荐儿童文学,以匹配教师的探究单元和家长和孩子的具体兴趣;
- Stay abreast of current children's literature (collection analysis, read reviews) in order to request titles for purchase the library collection and make recommendations to students, staff, and parents及时了解当前的儿童文学(馆藏分析、阅读评论),以便索取书籍以购买图书馆馆藏,并向学生、教职员工和家长提出建议;
- Provides Substitute Teaching as needed throughout the School and as requested by the Divisional Principals and Director of Student Services根据整个学校的需要以及部门校长和学生服务主任的要求提供代课;
- Administrative tasks associated with the Library与图书馆相关的行政任务;
- Other tasks as directed by and assigned by the Head of Library图书馆馆长指示和分配的其他工作。
【岗位要求】
具备熟练的计算机(电脑)操作技能;
能够熟练地使用各类办公室软件;
了解图书管理技能和流程,较强的记录和归档能力;
了解基础搜查/调研方法,较强的报告编写技巧;
英语基础扎实;
接人待物耐心有礼貌;
了解相关的法律/规则;
较强的沟通表达能力
具备成本控制和预算经验及能力
待遇:固定的税前月薪,多样化的假期,不提供食、宿。
