Strategic
l Assist in the formulation of strategy, annual business plan/budget, policies and procedures of QatarEnergy.
l Assist in planning and organizing the activities of QatarEnergy to ensure that the plans, procedures and programs are met through the optimization and efficient utilization of available resources to support organization’s business strategy.
l Lead and inspire the staff under his/her supervision to set and achieve set targets in order to maximize Company’s and their own potential.
Operations
l Establishes and maintains contacts with existing and potential companies interested in chemicals, petrochemicals and Fertilizer produced in the state of Qatar (” target customer”) to identify and promote Marketing opportunities and product requirements.
l Proposes and assists in Planning of long, medium & short term marketing strategies includes studying the assigned region/country and formulating policies on available products to meet market requirements.
l Supervises processes of gathering information and monitoring competitors’ activities, in the assigned region/Country and recommends appropriate modifications to the marketing strategy.
l Directly provide guidance to and work closely with the subordinates in all countries assigned under the region dealing with problems and recommends to management immediate and long-term solutions and means for improving performance.
l Implement relevant KPl's and evaluation.
l Assist in identifying suitable avenues for marketing & promtion through participation in exhibitions, seminars, conferences and symposia to boost Company’s international image and represent company with various regional and international organizations.
l Monitor operations, manage performance, and manage the cost structure - operating and administrative - in territory.
l Participates with Technical Services Section in investigations regarding all commercial and marketing country related claims. Liaises with other sections to speed up all financial, Logistics, and documentary issues.
l Responsible for entry and follow-ups of all enquiries
l Gathers information on and monitor competitor’s activities (Prices, procedures, credit facilities, etc.) in the assigned Country and recommends appropriate modifications to the marketing strategy in the Country/Region to maintain Company’s competitive edge. Includes preparing periodic Country/Region market reports consisting of information regarding competitor products, price trends, customer performances, etc.
People Management
l Supervise direct subordinates in their day-to-day tasks and provide guidance in managing performance by providing appropriate feedback, mentoring and counselling.
l Allocate work to subordinates, nominate for training as per QEMBV guidelines, conduct performance reviews and manage leave and overtime to ensure efficiency.
Behavioral Skills, Knowledge and Experience
1. Educational and qualifications
l Bachelor’s degree in business/science/management from recognized University.
l Master’s degree in administration/management from recognized University preferable.
2. Experience
l 10-12 years of experience in similar industry in the field of marketing, distribution and operations, including 6 years in a supervisory position.
l Language of neighboring countries is beneficial.
