Purpose of Role
The Assistant Head of Academic works in close collaboration with the Head of Elementary in ensuring high quality learning and teaching throughout the school. The Assistant Head of Academic provides professional and dynamic leadership and effective management and values the importance of developing positive and caring relationships with students, parents and all school staff. He/she supports the school’s inspiring, holistic vision of education and is responsible, with the school leadership team, for curriculum development, teaching and assessment practices, high academic achievement and the engagement and wellbeing of our students and staff. The Deputy understands the importance of the learning environment, both inside and outside school. As an outstanding teacher the Assistant Head of Academic believes strongly in action research and is committed to participating in and leading professional learning and the sharing of best practise in progressive elementary and bilingual education.
