Duties & Responsibilities
• Guide the development and implement a competitive school counseling programme that focuses on and promotes students’ success.
• Provide class teaching of psychological health and career consultations. Evaluate and respond to the diversity and individual differences of students.
• Coordinate and guide BZRs on pastoral, Young Pioneers and Youth League related work in secondary school.
• Provide group or individual consultation services for students. Evaluate and analyze student psychological and development status. Keep records and communicate with parents.
• Be committed to safeguarding and to promoting the welfare of children and young people. They ensure a secure, stimulating and well managed learning environment that promotes a sense of safety, support and wellbeing.
• Collaborate and consult with teachers, parents, community organizations and other stakeholders.
• Competence to orally and verbally communicate with parents in a professional context.
• Strong understanding of Dehong’s safe-at-school and positive behaviour policies.
• Embrace the education of the whole person.
• Lead Zhihong extracurricular activities related to university and career content.
• Duties in the day school and boarding house as assigned by the school.
• Attend and participate constructively in staff meetings.
• Participate (including preparing students/activities) in the wider life of the school, such as assemblies, celebrations, extra-curricular events and so on.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Dehong schools and EiM to share best practices around the network and participate in group-wide events as appropriate.
• Support service learning and sustainability practices, events, and programmes.
• Grade Leaders need to remain flexible and adaptable to ensure effective leadership of the grade. Therefore, the list of responsibilities is not exhaustive.
• Other teaching and learning related tasks as determined by the Principal/HoS.

Competences Required
• Sufficient proficiency in English
• Over 3 year working experience in school counseling
• Integrity and professionalism
• Ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse student pool
• Working knowledge of various counseling models, practices and resources
• Engaging interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills
• Ability to collect and analyze data by using various tools like SPSS
• Sound judgement and emotional intelligence
• Hold a Teacher Qualification Certificate
