Purpose of Role:

This role will participate in driving the successful launch of innovative product (wooden furniture and case goods in this role) by bridging design creativity with engineering execution. Your work will ensure our products meet quality, cost, and timeline targets, supporting our competitive edge in global markets.

Responsibilities

• Design Collaboration & Sample Development Support:

o Assist in collaborating with designers to understand design concepts and translate them into engineering solutions.

o Support the creation of accurate and functional prototypes in the sample room based on design specifications.

o Provide support during the new product introduction process, assisting in ensuring manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and structural integrity.

o Assist in generating CAD drawings and technical specifications for wooden furniture and case goods products.

• Engineering Expertise & Material Knowledge Development:

o Assist in providing technical guidance on materials in responsible categories, construction techniques, and manufacturing

processes.

o Develop an understanding of the materials, components, and parts used in responsible products construction.

o Assist in gathering information on material costs and identifying opportunities for cost optimization.

o Support the senior engineers and product managers and develop an understanding on optimizing material utilization and explore

alternative materials to enhance product performance, reduce costs, and improve environmental impact.

• Product Development & Engineering Support:

o Assist in leading and monitoring sampling schedules with suppliers.

o Support the engineering design and development of new wooden furniture and case goods products.

o Assist in conducting feasibility studies, prototyping, and testing to validate designs.

o Assist in developing and maintaining technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for wooden furniture and case goods products.

o Support the optimization of existing product designs for cost reduction, improved efficiency, and enhanced performance.

o Assist in ensuring consistent standards across all company workshops & factories.

• Technical Expertise & Problem-Solving Assistance:

o Assist in troubleshooting and resolving engineering challenges

related to wooden furniture and case goods products design and production.

o Support root cause analysis and corrective actions implementation for product defects and quality issues.

o Assist in managing the Engineering Change process (incl. ECR & ECN).

o Stay informed of about the industry trends and advancements in wooden furniture and case goods technology, and new materials.

• Process Improvement & Standardization Support:

o Assist in developing and implementing standardized engineering processes and procedures.

o Support the identification of process improvement opportunities.

o Contribute to the development and maintenance of quality control systems.

• Testing & Compliance Assistance:

o Assist in developing and implementing testing protocols for wooden furniture and case goods products.

o Support internal product compliance with company quality standards and relevant safety regulations.

o Assist in coordinating testing arrangements with the testing team and maintaining test report databases.

o Stay informed of changes in relevant testing standards and internal compliance requirements.

• Product Documentation Support:

o Assist in creating and maintaining product documentation,

including assembly instructions, product specifications, material safety data sheets, and maintenance guidelines.

o Support the maintenance of a digital documentation library.

• Supplier Collaboration Support:

o Assist in working with material suppliers to ensure the quality and consistency of materials.

o Support the evaluation and approval of new materials and components for wooden furniture and case goods products.

o Travel internationally as needed to supplier and factory locations.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in furniture related Engineering, mechanical

engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or recent graduate with strong academic background. Experience within the furniture or

upholstery industry is a plus.

• Strong interest in wooden furniture and case goods design and manufacturing.

• Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

• Good organizational and project management skills, particularly in managing schedules and deadlines.

• Eagerness to learn and grow within the company.

• Good command in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) or strong aptitude to learn.

• Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
