Join Our Innovative Endolysin Discovery Team

We’re
seeking a highly motivated and skilled PhD-level Scientist to join our dynamic
team. We are a leading company with large international footprint in the
endolysin field with several best-in-class products.

What You’ll Do:

You’llplay a crucial role in the discovery of novel endolysins for use as
therapeutics to solve the problem of drug-resistant bacteria. You will join our
world-leading endolysin discovery platform and work under the supervision of
two PhD scientists from a top-tier US university.

Responsibilities will include
leading a discovery project to identify and validate target molecules for
defined target organisms. The following techniques are important for a
successful candidate:

Molecular Biology: Designing and executing experiments involving molecular cloning – including plasmid construction, PCR primer design, and analysis of sequencing results.

·
Microbiology: Isolating and working with bacterial strains, especially fastidious anaerobic bacteria,
maintaining strict sterile techniques, and performing assays such as MIC
testing, biofilm studies, and utilizing an anaerobic hood.

· Assay Development: Experience with high throughput screening and 96/384-well plate assays. Experience with robotic systems is a plus!

· Protein Science: Purifying and characterizing recombinant proteins, utilizing a range of biochemical techniques.

· Data Management: Maintaining detailed and accurate records of experimental data and preparing timely reports for the team lead.

What We’re Looking For:

· Independence and clear scientific thinking: Ability to develop, design, and perform innovative research. Ability to understand scientific articles and patents.

· Team work: Our discovery team is a cohesive team that collaborates extensively. You must be able to collaborate effectively to achieve your goals.

· Education: PhD degree is an absolute requirement for this position. Subject could be in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field.

· Experience: While prior industry experience is an advantage, we value candidates with strong foundational knowledge and a passion for research. We greatly value prior experience working with pathogenic bacteria.

· Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to design and execute logical and well-defined experiments. Excellent written
and verbal communication skills (CET-6 or equivalent proficiency in English).You will be expected to be able to write reports in English.

· Bonus Points: Experience working in a GLP environment; experience with animal models (mouse/rat);experience with different protein expression systems (for example, cell-free expression system, yeast expression system, etc.); ability to program in python.
