Responsibilities:

·Implement and administer Microsoft native High
Availability and Replication technologies as well as those of third parties' in
Disaster Recovery and Scale-out scenario.

· Create, administer & fine-tune the database backup, restore and archiving strategies and processes.

· Proficient in database performance tuning &optimization; Apply server and database wide settings based on dynamic need of resources - memory, CPU & storage.

· Coordinate with the Network Administer & Developers to ensure data security & availability and meet the necessity of database setup and refresh in development/staging/QA environments.

· Monitor the database capacity and physical &logical modeling for every phase of major .NET application development.

· Design and implement indexing strategies; Routinely review and refine indexing strategies; Plan and apply index defragging and statistic update policies.

· Automate routine processes in SQL job agent with any combination of vendor's script and other scripting languages; Configure the notification and send out message to the owner of failed job for subsequent troubleshoot.

· Follow and implement the SQL Server security best practices such as separate and run SQL Server services under different Active Directory accounts AND using Kerberos authentication.

· Define, select & monitor database performance metrics and sending alerts/warning in advanced to support department/company overall SLA; Taking ownership of root cause analysis.

· ETL/Synapse pipeline administration, Power BI admin, managing azure synapse resource.

· Collaborate with system and storage engineer to install, configure & fine-tune SQL Server on physical and/or virtual machine.

· Exposure to set up, admin and deploy applications to SQL Server in Azure.

· Being a liaison between internal partners and external vendors application/databases.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor degree major in computer science from 4-year accredited college preferred. MCITP: Database Administrator and/or MCTS Database Specialist on SQL Server 2012/2014/2016/2019.

2. Preferred minimum 2 years of dedicated experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator. Developer/part time DBA or non-SQL server DBA is acceptable.

3. Solid experience (hand-on) in Transactional, Log-shipping and Mirroring replication; AlwaysOn Availability Group is a big bonus.

4. Support VLDB in production environment; Proficient experience in table partition design and implementation including create, switch and merge partitions.

5. Solid experience in the migration of 2008 to 2012/2014/2016 along with the installation of SQL 2012/2014/2016/2019 and configuration of SQL Server with best practices of storage performance.

6. Be familiar with Azure, Synapse, Power BI and scheduled data ETL jobs administration.

7. Open to learn 3rd party tools including backup, performance diagnosis & monitoring, scheduling.

8. Understanding of index internal structure; Solid T-SQL skills and strong understanding of SQL 2008/2012/2014/2016 DMVs.

9. Ability to use scripting language including but not limited to PowerShell, VB, java & DOS batch command.

10. Power user in Windows 2008/2012/2016 and general knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy; Capable of communicating the fundamental of network and firewall knowledge.

11. Strong discipline of following project timeline and excellent time management skill. Mingle well between the best practice of technology and the

business ROI.
