Pico International Ltd is seeking a proactive and strategic Financial Controller to be based in one of our overseas offices (outside of mainland China). This role is critical in overseeing the financial health and operational integrity of the agency, ensuring robust financial management and supporting strategic growth initiatives in an international context.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full spectrum of finance functions, along with oversight of related administrative areas such as HR, legal, and subsidies. You will be a key business partner to the management team, providing insightful reports and analysis to drive informed decision-making.

The successful candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, deep experience with ERP systems, financial analysis, and a proven ability to manage core financial operations (including hedging and cash flow) to help the agency achieve its international growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Analysis

• Conduct financial analysis and prepare management reports to support strategic decision-making for the overseas operations.
• Analyze revenues, expenditures, and budget variances; report findings and recommendations to senior management.
• Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and expense management activities.

Financial Operations & Control

• Execute month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Monitor and record financial transactions in compliance with local regulations and corporate policies.
• Utilize the company’s ERP system to maintain accurate and efficient financial operations.

Reporting & Compliance

• Generate timely and accurate financial statements and management reports.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors by providing necessary documentation and information.
• Investigate financial discrepancies and recommend effective corrective actions.

Team Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration

• Coordinate effectively with the corporate finance team based in Hong Kong to meet all reporting deadlines.
• Guide, mentor, and support junior accounting staff within the local team.
• Collaborate with various departments on financial, HR, legal, and administrative matters.

Process Improvement

• Review and recommend improvements to existing accounting procedures to enhance efficiency and control.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA or equivalent qualification is a plus.
• 5–10+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with prior experience in an international setting outside of mainland China.
• Experience in leading or mentoring a small team.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems and strong technical accounting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a systematic follow-up approach.
• Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
