Job Title: Automation Engineer

Position overview:

We are looking for an experienced automation engineer to join our engineering team contributing to new cutting-edge automation solutions.

Role definition:

Ÿ Develop, optimize and maintain the standard automation architecture, covering hardware, firmware, software and communication protocols

Ÿ Take the lead of conceptualization, design and setup of electromechanical/automation systems, with sensors (force/torque/position/speed etc.), voltage/current control and measurement and motion control (servo/step motor/linear motor) technologies.

Ÿ Implement Artificial Intelligence, Mechatronics, Robotics, IIOT, Augmented Reality Supervision, Cyber Security and other industrial 4.0 related technologies.

Ÿ Hands on the conceptualization, design and setup of vision systems.

Ÿ Hands on the programming of vision algorithms.

Ÿ Hands on Electrical Schematics Design

Ÿ Hands on PLC/HMI/SCADA application and programming

Ÿ Hands on PC based programming (C#/C++/Java/Python/Control cards)

Ÿ Participate in the deployment of automation systems to manufacturing sites.

Ÿ Train manufacturing site staffs, as needed, for success deployment, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment.

Ÿ Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, troubleshooting activities, and maintenance procedures.

Ÿ Meet operational requirements and expectations for accuracy of work, while minimizing waste by caring for product, equipment and facilities.

Ÿ Ability to disassemble equipment, diagnose problems, and reassemble in a proficient manner

Ÿ Circulation of professional knowledges to colleagues

Ÿ Evaluate the supplier competency for external supplier mapping

Ÿ Participate in technical choices with external suppliers

Ÿ Participate actively in the clarification of product & equipment during project period (offer inquiry, equipment design & troubleshooting) with external suppliers

Ÿ Review, optimize and qualify equipment solutions from external suppliers

Education: University degree in electrical engineering, electric engineering, automation engineering, mechanical engineering

Experience:

Ÿ 6+ years in 2D vision system and 3D vision system design and programming with deep understanding of computer vision principles and applications and proven tracks in large scale industry applications

Ÿ 6+ years in manufacturing automation system design, integration, installation, debugging and improvement

Ÿ 3+ years working experience in electrical schematics design and mainstream PLC/HMI/SCADA (SIEMENS, Schneider Electric, Mitsubishi, Panasonic) programming with both ladder diagrams and structured texts

Ÿ 2+ years of integration experience with mainstream robots (ABB, Fanuc, Kuka, EPSON) and mainstream control cards and signal processing cards (DeltaTau, NI, TI)

Ÿ 2+ years working experience in industrial software programming, based on one or two mainstream programming languages (C#/C++/Java/Python)

Ÿ 2+ years of experience with processes like high-speed assembly, precise assembly, welding, soldering, testing, loading, sticking.

Travel:

Domestic/Oversea Travel to supplier sites or global GN sites upon project request
