Position purpose
The Planner provides support and assistance for the planning and coordination of project works for (Inteforge) Offshore Fabrication Division.
This includes ensuring that the planning is logical, practical and realistic; that adequate resources are available when required; and follow-up of physical progress reporting.
The position works as a member of the Project Execution team upon the awarding of tenders.
External
Liaison with external clients and sub-contractors in relationship to planning and scheduling.
Internal
Frequent contact with Project Manager and other team members of the division.
Liaise with Project Manager, Workshop Managers and Superintendents for input and update status purposes.
Liaison with the Operations Manager, Senior Planner and Business Unit Manager in relation to current tenders and operational area to organise handover and transition.
Liaison with Divisional and Project Services staff in relation to Supply, Purchasing, Plant & Equipment, Safety and Financial requirements for planning and scheduling.
Gather information for EOT and Variations and capable of analysis of gathered data.
Responsibilities of this position
Handle inquiries and provide information and advice related to planning and scheduling.
Interface with vendors, subcontractors, company procurement and other project controls staff for management of planning function in accordance with established procedures.
Ensure that appropriate planning techniques and scheduling systems meet the projects needs.
Assist in developing logistics planning data for forecasting vessel bookings and streamlining information flow.
Ensure that all plans comply with the Management system including all policies, objectives, procedures and instructions.
Assist in development of tracking systems for accurate measurement of progress and status.
Assist with compiling major project plans and execution schedules on behalf of the Division.

Review planning and scheduling documentation and identify ambiguities, risks and key issues to be considered by the project execution team.
Ensure that all project, engineering and procurement planning and scheduling information is available to service fabrication needs.
Undertake other tasks to support Sinostruct projects.
Other works arranged by the company as the project required.
Job Specific competencies
Strong Primavera P6, Microsoft Project & Excel skills are essential
- Relevant fabrication industry experience
- Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing in English language
- Able to prepare plan and schedule documents, proposals, executive reports in English
- Methodical, pays attention to detail and takes responsibilities for the quality and accuracy of own work and meeting deadlines.
- Willing to work on a wide range of projects and tasks
- Capable of working independently to gather weekly / monthly data.
- The ability to work well as part of a experienced team.
