Job Description
Performs transportation logistics activities related to supply chain services, international transportation arrangement, shipment of products, and third-party forwarder performance management. Evaluates customer support and field service commitments to ensure performance requirements are met. Serves as liaison between sales and operations teams to develop concepts and coordinate product knowledge; provides data analysis for production planning and volume studies; and participates in process/rating improvement efforts. Develops negotiation strategies to create a \"\"win-win\"\" relationship between the company and suppliers. Assists in identifying new, high potential suppliers.
Job Responsibility:
1.Transportation:
Be the first point of contact for transportation related opportunities, issues, escalations and inquiries, at the incumbent plants, sites and Business Units for both Domestic and International Shipments to ensure the on time service and quality
Manage and complete daily, weekly and monthly transportation related metrics for the plants, sites and business units, in alignment with the regional and global standards, providing analysis for strategic improvements
Interfaces with internal and external stakeholders, carriers, freight forwarders, other functional areas to ensure projects and specific shipments coordination
Support and orient plants, sites and Business Units on freight claims submissions, follow-up and recovery, in alignment with regional and global freight claims management policies
2.Procure:
Coordinate spot transportation activities with functional groups, to acquire transportation services in a cost effective and timely manner, based on specific needs - in accordance with the premium freight policy
Support regional and global RFQ processes, ensuring that specific plants, sites and business units’ requirements are being considered
3.Productivity:
Identify opportunities to reduce the total cost of Rockwell Automation's supply chain, by optimizing the shipment arrangement, selecting the most effective transportation mode (ocean/air, LTL/FTL/Parcel, etc.), carrier selection, and shipping policies. Implement solutions where appropriate
4.Supplier Management:
Establish a "win-win" local relationship between the company and carriers/forwarders
Ensure carrier scorecard date is accurately updated prior to business reviews
Metrics / Performance / Analysis
Assist in carrier evaluation based on capacity, service, and cost
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Legal authorization to work in China
Preferred Qualifications
Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in International Transportation operations
Knowledge in International Transportation and/or Trade and Compliance
SAP Experience
Familiar or subject matter expert with importing and exporting both ocean and heavy air freight
Familiarity in working with a multi carrier/freight forwarder environment.
