Job Summary
Under general supervision the Lead Engineer provides all analysis, coordination and control for the processing of engineered motor control center and intelligent power package orders. This includes analyzing order specifications, drawings, resolving and documenting exceptions and questions, leading technical clarifications, manage sub vendors, instructing and coordinating whole package not limited to electrical, coordinating activities during manufacturing, assembly, and test, making changes. Support project manager on the the commercial aspects of the order, change order recognition, risk assessment, lead time control, quality control, etc. Provide technical and engineering support to Rockwell Automation Field Sales Offices for the deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
• Review customer specifications and drawings (one-lines, elevations and schematics), for correctness and completeness and resolve discrepancies.
• Lead customer technical clarification and vendor technical clarification.
• Technical management of entire project, make guidance for overall technical direction and migration the gap between different engineer disciplines.
• Review and manage the engineering output including drawings, BOMs, datasheet, etc. of the whole project.
• Technical documentation management.
• Verify technical change and summary to project manager.
• Provide assistance to the manufacturing operation as required.
• Attend FAT of key equipment.
• Provide field assistance whenever required to ensure customer satisfaction
• Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network
• Support project Manager on order transfer from commercial engineer or sales. Assist Project Manager to handle kick off meeting with related department according to project schedule. Work with Project Manager to make sure the project delivery will match margin, delivery date and quality requirement compare with as sold proposal or order.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE
(Education, qualifications and experience requirements an employee must have)
• B.S. Electrical Engineering Degree or related degree.
• At least 8 years’ experience on electrical engineering design
• Be familiar with electrical package such as switchgear/transformer/UPS/drive/etc.
• E-house design experience is plus
• Automation control, PLC programming and network is plus
• Project management experience is plus
