Job Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning & Vision Setting:

• Define a clear, phased (short-term 1 year, mid-term 1-3 years) vision and roadmap for Marketing capability development, aligned with company and Marketing strategy.

• Continuously analyze market trends, technological shifts, competitive landscape, and business needs to identify and prioritize current and future ("next-gen") core Marketing capabilities essential for the organization

• Partner closely with Human Resources (HR) to integrate capability development needs into the overall Marketing talent strategy (recruitment, development, retention, succession planning), ensuring talent capabilities align with organizational requirements.

2. Capability Diagnosis & Needs Assessment:

• Establish and utilize a scientific diagnostic framework to regularly evaluate the current state of Marketing capabilities across the organization and key functions/levels, identifying gaps against target capabilities.

• Gain deep insights into specific capability uplift needs from internal MKT teams; consolidate analyses and prioritize based on business impact.

3. Program Design & Resource Development:

• Design, develop, or source comprehensive, blended (online/offline, theoretical/practical) capability development programs (training, workshops, mentoring, rotations, etc) based on diagnostic findings and prioritized needs.

• Lead or coordinate the development of high-quality, accessible learning content, training materials, toolkits, case studies, knowledge repositories, etc., ensuring alignment with adult learning principles and business contexts.

• Champion the establishment and optimization of Marketing knowledge management systems or platforms to facilitate knowledge capture, sharing, reuse, and innovation.

4. Program Implementation & Change Management:

• Develop and coordinate global/regional capability development calendars to ensure efficient resource allocation and avoid conflicts. Provide guidance and support to local teams for effective capability building execution.

• Lead or collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the effective execution and implementation of capability development plans, monitoring progress and quality.

5. Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:

• Design and implement evaluation frameworks and define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of capability development initiatives.

• Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and feedback, assessing the effectiveness and Return on Investment (ROI) of programs, and iteratively optimizing solutions, resources, and methodologies.

6. Budget Planning & Resource Management:

• Collaborate closely with Marketing Leadership Team (MLT), Finance, and HR to analyze needs, develop a well-justified annual budget plan for capability development, clearly articulating business value and expected ROI.

• Manage the capability development budget to ensure resources are efficiently allocated to the highest-impact projects and areas.

• Monitor budget utilization and track the actual return on capability investments

Key Capabilities Required for the Role

1. Strategic Thinking & Business Acumen:

• Ability to link capability development directly to overarching business and marketing strategies.

• Proven ability to define a compelling vision, roadmap, and prioritize initiatives based on strategic impact.

2. Capability & Learning Expertise:

• Deep knowledge of learning principles, instructional design, and capability development methodologies.

• Experience in conducting robust capability gap analyses and needs assessments.

• Proficiency in designing, developing, and implementing diverse learning solutions (formal, informal, on-the-job).

3. Data-Driven Analysis & Measurement:

• Strong analytical skills to interpret data from assessments, performance metrics, and business outcomes.

• Ability to design and implement effective evaluation frameworks (e.g., ROI calculation).

• Comfortable using data to diagnose issues, measure success, and drive continuous improvement.

4. Collaboration & Influencing:

• Good influencing and stakeholder management abilities, capable of building consensus and securing buy-in at all levels (Internal MKT teams, HR, Finance, etc)

• Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal).

5. Cross-Cultural Understanding:

• Good cross -cultural understanding ability to assess what kind of customization is required based on critical cultural differences


Professional Background:

• 5+ experience in Marketing, Learning & Development (L&D), Talent Development, Organizational Development (OD), or a related field, ideally within a marketing context.

• Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
