Technician – Art, Design Technology & Computer Science

Position Summary
Seeking a skilled and adaptable Technician to support the Art, Design Technology, and Computer Science departments in a secondary school setting. The role involves preparing and maintaining resources, organising materials, managing inventory, and ensuring that practical spaces are safe, efficient, and well-equipped for student learning.

Education
• Bachelors Degree/Relevant technical qualification, diploma, or certification in a related field (Art, Design Technology, Computer Science, or similar).
• Health and Safety training (desirable but can be provided).
• Evidence of ongoing professional development is an advantage.

Core Skills
• Experience with woodworking, laser cutting, and 3D printing.
• Familiarity with a range of art materials, techniques, and equipment.
• Basic understanding of maintenance, repair, and calibration of tools and machines.
• Ability to prepare, organise, and store resources effectively.
• Awareness of health and safety practices in workshop and studio environments.

Communication Skills
• English language working proficiency
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Clear verbal communication to support both staff and students.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Comfortable liaising with suppliers and contractors when required.

Priority Criteria (Highly Desirable)
• Experience in an educational or training environment.
