Job Purpose:

1. To make an active contribution towards our vision of inclusion in ensuring that all students fulfil their academic and personal potential through a commitment to quality-first teaching and support.

2. To plan, teach and review targeted educational interventions under the supervision and support of the Whole School SENDCO.

3. To work in partnership with Class Teachers and, where directed, Heads of Department to support the delivery of effective and high-quality teaching and learning opportunities to students within classroom environments.

4. To work in partnership with Class Teachers and, where directed, Heads of Department to support the delivery of effective and high-quality teaching and learning opportunities to targeted students in small-groups/one-to-one contexts.

5. To contribute to the wider learning and holistic education ethos of the School through the Extra-Curricular Activities programme.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. To maintain an intervention teaching load appropriate to the position and to be responsible for the progress of students participating in additional, targeted interventions.

2. To be familiar with the English and Mathematics curriculum in Lower School and the modes of assessment across the Lower School.

3. To provide the necessary support and pastoral care for pupils inside and outside the classroom and during fixtures or events.

4. Take an active part in the after-school activities programme.

5. Participate in the annual Professional Performance Review.

6. Supervise students during non-period time as determined by the duty rota.
