Position Summary
Product development engineer is to assure product design realization in conformity with engineering DfX, MP-friendly/-sustainably and reliability-proof and serve as “bridge” of internal cross function teams and external customer in terms of product requirements design perspective.
Responsibility
1. DRI of product development during project prototype conception phase with customers and NPI engineering and MP enablement.
2. Product (module-level) overall design based on customer requirement, combined with existing ZEISS XRX/VIS Product/Technology solution pool, including structure design, material selection, process conception build-up (with internal TPM function).
3. Assured product design conformed with DfX principle for MP enablement and negotiating with customer for requirement tuning.
4. Conceptual prototype build-up on early customer inquiring phase and direct responsibility as overall product design in NPI validation phase (EVT/DVT/PVT) inline process validation and support/consultancy of product reliability test.
5. Harmonize E2E product integration (including design synchronization, quality consistency, etc) with collaboration of upstream/downstream partners in the project.
6. Core in-house fixture design for company competency maintain.
7. Design tuning for cost effectiveness from product cost and manufacturing cost perspective.
8. Design timeline control to fit with overall project engineering validation timeline.
9. Support to Process/Machine MBO of different build phase/production iteration.
10. Support to Yield ramp-up, iteration to corresponding product design during NPI phase.
11. FACA (failure analysis and counteraction) to corresponding product design during NPI phase.
12. Next generation product iteration development support.
Qualification
1. Min. 3-5 years Product design/Mechanical design experience, responsible for product design/development in 2-3x MP product full NPI life cycle (concept-EVT-DVT-PVT-MP).
2. Showcase of complex design challenge/problem resolving experience as product designer/development.
3. Rich experience of different industry product design/development, i.e., 3C., medical device.
4. Mechanical engineering background (machine design/product design direction). Electrical & Electronics and PLC is plus.
5. Optics knowledge is a plus.
6. Fluent in English of both written and spoken.
7. Familiar with data-driven design, 6-Sigma, SPC, FMEA, DOE. Minitab as minimum, JMP is plus.
8. Data analysis skill, Python is a plus
