Role Summary


We are looking for a Business Development Assistant to join our highly regarded
team at Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP Shenzhen Representative Office (“QRO”).


The role presents an opportunity for an accomplished and motivated business
developer to support the lawyers in the firm on pitches and proposals, the firm’s key client programmes, strategic event support and other business development and marketing activities.


We are looking for someone to join the team who has a very strong work ethic and a genuine interest in working for a law firm.


Responsibilities


As a BD Assistant, you will report to and support the BD Manager and work closely with the firm's stakeholders, primarily in QRO. Your role will include helping to drive, implement and oversee BD activities such as:


- Preparing responses to client's request for proposals, pitches and tenders, including curating relevant deals lists.


- Assisting respective key client teams to develop an active account plan to pursue strategic priorities and meet financial targets and drive the implementation of the plan.


- Conducting research, summarising information, and communicating intelligence (market trends / opportunities) that can be used for targeting and prioritisation purposes, including the identification of new leads or opportunities to expand our relationships with existing clients and key clients.


- Developing a good working knowledge of priority sectors, market trends, deal activity, etc., that the firm can use strategically to identify and win clients.


- Supporting the firm’s participation in sponsorships, conferences, business development trips and other key profile-building opportunities.


- Assisting with delegation visits by PRC contacts or clients, including pre-meeting preparation, internal lawyers communication and post meeting business development related follow ups.


- Assisting with content development for presentations, proposals, and pitch material.


- Assisting with client specific development events, including identifying attendees/guest list, invitation drafting, locations, development of materials, facility liaison, registration duties, article drafting for social media etc.


Requirements


- Two years of experience in business development and marketing preferred (Law firm BD/marketing experience preferred).


- Tertiary qualifications in marketing, business, law or a related discipline
preferred.


- Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese is essential.


- Excellent project management skills, keen attention to detail and an ability to prioritise and execute multiple ongoing projects often under tight deadlines.


- Ability to work confidently and collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization.


- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).


- Flexible and able to work collaboratively within a team environment.
