About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Application Engineer to join our Electronic team. In this role, you will provide application support to our customers in China by understanding their needs and ensuring fitness for use in product selection and customer integration throughout the value chain. You will partner with the Field Sales Associates most closely to support our China region or global accounts. Meanwhile, you also need collaborate closely with business partners such as product specialists, process engineer, quality, technical and Supply Chain Team in China and in global other region.
This role will be located at our facility in Shanghai, China.
Responsibilities:
-- Support the complexities of the sales process and collaborate with the China market facing team to demonstrate the benefits of, and continually improve, the value that our products and services deliver to customers in the application
-- Manage customer expectations based on product performance and internal capabilities while effectively working with customers to align on true application needs
-- Understand Electronics application requirements based on customer and end user needs to ensure the elements of Fitness for Use (FFU) are validated along the global value chain
-- Integrate with and influence global operations, technology, and sales & marketing associates to assure customer existing and new product requirements are consistently met
-- Support customer validation activities to ensure the elements of Fitness-For-Use and customer requirements are met
Required Qualifications:
-- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science, major in Mechanical Engineering or Material Science is a plus
-- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical customer-facing role
-- Demonstrated strong responsiveness to customer inquiries; strong internal and external influencing skills
-- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with, collaborate, and influence customers as well as internal cross-functional teammates
-- Self-directed and self-motivated, ability to work independently at times with minimal supervision and guidance,
-- ‘Hands-on’ style and willingness to spend time in Gore labs and in manufacturing, as well as inside customer facilities where our product is handled, integrated, and evaluated
-- Strong organizational skills with a proven record of prioritizing, problem solving, and managing multiple projects and customer support activities
-- Strong written and verbal communication skills, in Chinese and English, with external customers, demonstrated understanding of intellectual property and waterline
-- Experimental design and analysis skills to support lab-based testing
-- Ability to travel up to 40%, including occasionally to other Asian countries
Desired Qualifications:
-- Experience in the mobile electronics, mems microphone, sensors, and/or energy industries
-- Experience with discreet part manufacturing processes like die cutting and injection molding and the use of pressure sensitive adhesives
-- Experience with acoustics is a plus
