The mission of the GRC/RDCS department is to lead the development of the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) platform for Mercedes-Benz China, ensuring the delivery of innovative, reliable, and high-performance solutions that support the company’s vision for autonomous and assisted driving technologies.
The ADAS Platform Software Architect is responsible for designing and implementing advanced software platforms that support autonomous driving products. This role focuses on creating robust and scalable architectures using modern technologies such as SoC, virtualization, and operating systems like Linux, QNX, and RTOS. The architect will ensure the platform meets high standards for performance, reliability, and scalability, and will document and verify the architecture to support business and technical goals.
Collaboration is key, as the architect will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and suppliers—both locally and internationally—to align requirements and drive the successful development of automated driving and driver assistance systems. The position also involves supporting project teams in China and ensuring that supplier requirements are integrated into the platform’s design and implementation
Education
• Bachelor in computer science, robotics, electrical engineering or a related field
Experience
• At least 8 years working experience in SW development, 5 years Middleware AUTOSAR/DDS development experience.
• Experience in automotive software development, including Middleware Development, Performance Optimization
• Experience in performance optimizations, writing efficient implementations, and software debugging
• Excellent problem solving skill and analytical skill.
• Good communication skills and teamwork spirit
• Inter-cultural competence and communication skills with various hierarchy levels.
• Independent and pro-active working style, willingness to travel inside China and abroad to conduct system testing
• Chinese native speaker with fluent English language skills, German language beneficial
Knowledge
• Through knowledge and understanding of Middleware Technologies and develop tools-chain is a must.
• Proficient C / C++ language programming skill is a must.
• Strong skill in scripting languages (Python among others) with large software system development experience is a must
• Experience in Optimizing of POSIX-based Operating Systems and Performance analysis
• Experience in IPC mechanism with different Middleware Technologies like Adaptive AUTOSAR or DDS
• Experience in automotive network architecture e.g. Ethernet , AUTOSAR SOME/IP and QNX io-pkt, etc. is preferred
• Experience with ASPICE and Safety Norms like ISO26262
