Objectives of Job:
· Leading Door System engineering: Lead the full-lifecycle technical management of door systems (including front doors, rear doors, tailgates etc.), covering the entire process from concept design, series design, prototype verification to mass production. Define the technical solution according to target from PM and design specification (FLH, SLH, KLH) and present on Tech/Zone meeting for door systems to ensure that technical solutions meet our MB requirements of performance, safety, cost and reliability.
· Product Design and Optimization: Be responsible for the door system design solution, performance simulation and structural optimization of core components of door systems (such as door locks, hinges, window regulators, sealing systems, anti-collision structures, interior trim panels, etc.). cooperate with OVD, PLE and other team to fulfil the requirement of function, package and testing team. Lead the design audit of door system to match the delivery requirements like P/W/Blank release. Solve technical problems in the design stage, such as interference, abnormal noise and poor sealing, so as to improve the smoothness of door opening and closing, NVH performance, waterproof and dustproof level as well as passive/active safety performance of door systems.
· Technology R&D and Innovation: Track cutting-edge technologies in the industry (such as intelligent sensor doors, application of lightweight materials, integrated door modules, etc.). Lead the research of door system-related technologies, patent delivery and the implementation of innovative projects. Promote the iterative upgrade of door system technologies to support the improvement of vehicle product competitiveness.
· Project Collaboration and Management: Serve as the technical leader of door systems, participate in the project approval review of vehicle projects, draft door system development specification and plans. Coordinate resources across departments (Design, PM, PLE, BIW, Interior, E/E, MP, AF, PP and QM) and with suppliers to promote the project to meet the targets on schedule. Solve technical problems in the prototype trial production, pilot production and mass production stages.
· Supplier Technical Management: Be responsible for the SLH and KLH for door system, supplier capability evaluation and nomination during sourcing phase. Align with MP and QM for Quality catalogue, Visit supplier for procurement audit and process audit, supervise the Part maturity, testing and delivery progress of supplier parts, and promote suppliers to carry out technical improvement and cost optimization.
· Standard and Process Construction: Follow, clarify and improve the company standards, SLH, KLH, Fuvo(test specifications) and development processes related to door systems. Improve the technical document management system (including design drawings, BOM, technical agreements, test reports, etc.). Conduct the precipitation and sharing of technical knowledge and guide the technical improvement of team members.
· Quality Problem Solving: Lead/Participate the analysis the problems of door systems in system level during development and hardware phase, define SOMA, LAMA and preventive measures together with RD1/RD2, MP and QM for future projects, reduce the after-sales failure rate and improve customer satisfaction. Support deviation documentation in PDRS system.
