Objective of job
•The scope of Solution Architect_SAP Basis is to maintain and further develop the new SAP solution for IT department, including parts logistics@Asia and new system landscape. Target is to ensure that the business unit will have an IT solution which is state of the art and is running smoothly to execute the daily business without negative impact.
•This role will be responsible to ensure that the SAP system technology is available/up & running in the needed quality. As Solution Architect_SAP Basis, he/she will be responsible for the system setup and all SAP basis technology topics. Hereby this position has to communicate and collaborate with many different stakeholders (e.g. IT teams, BU, cross IT department experts, external vendors) and is responsible that the China SAP systems are running & further developed.
Job designation
•Daily Operations for SAP Systems under IT Scope e.g. parts logistics@Asia, etc.
-Steer and manage suppliers’ delivery quality (e.g. Infosys SAP Basis team) for SAP Basis operation
-Take driver seat to steer SAP basis related critical issue resolving as well as SAP related infra area with collaborations of suppliers
-Lead application recovery activity and coordinate all relevant support teams and vendors
-Lead security topics such as security finding mitigation and penetration test
-Lead regular SAP systems patching and coordinate OS level patching to ensure security level up to date
-Lead system upgrade as per SAP product lifecycle need
-Manage regular non PRD system refresh as business need
-Maintain and Implement Roles and Authorization concept
-Implement data archiving strategies to manage data growth and ensure efficient system operation.
-Manage integration with peripheral systems including VPN, SolMan, IDM, MFA, SSO etc.
-Work closely together with AWS cloud and data center teams regarding system hosting & middleware operation ( e.g. Axway, MQ etc.)
-Monitor system performance, identify opportunities for process improvements and system optimization. Recommend and implement enhancements to improve system efficiency, performance and security.
-Strengthen operation knowledge pool for SAP Basis operation
-Provide necessary knowledge transfer to suppliers for SAP Basis operation
•Related projects implementation under IT Scope e.g. parts logistics IT system upgrade, new IT landscape etc.
-Project planning & coordination: Collaborate with project managers, Work package leads, and other stakeholders to define the project scope, timelines, and resources required for the SAP implementation. Develop and manage the SAP Basis project plan, including milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, such as functional consultants, infrastructure teams, and third-party vendors, to ensure seamless integration and project alignment
-System landscape design: Design the technical architecture of SAP systems, conduct system sizing & capacity planning, plan and implement high availability, disaster recovery and backup strategies.
-Installation & configuration: Steer and manage suppliers’ delivery such as SAP System installation, system parameters & profiles configuration and other settings according to best practices and project requirements, SAP Solution Manager setup for system monitoring and management.
-System integration: Integrate SAP systems with other third-party application & system such as middleware, database, non SAP system. Configure and manage interfaces to enable seamless data exchange. Ensure secure and efficient connectivity between different SAP environments and external systems.
-Security and user management: Implement MB & SAP security policies, user authentication, and authorization procedures. Set up and manage user roles and profiles, ensuring compliance with organizational security standards. Monitor system security logs and conduct regular security audits to identify and address vulnerabilities.
-Performance monitoring and optimization: Monitor system performance, including server utilization, database performance, and application response times. Perform tuning and optimization of SAP applications and databases to ensure high performance and stability. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, applying patches and enhancements as necessary.
-Data migration and management: Plan and execute data migration activities, ensuring accurate and secure data transfer from legacy systems to the new SAP environment. Implement data archiving strategies to manage data growth and ensure efficient system operation.
-Backup and recovery: Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect critical data and minimize downtime. Test and validate disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
-System upgrades and patching: plan and execute system upgrades, including SAP kernel and database upgrades. Apply SAP patches, notes, and enhancement packs to address issues and add new features.
-Troubleshooting and issue resolution: Provide technical support for troubleshooting and resolving SAP Basis-related issues during the implementation project. Conduct root cause analysis for system errors and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with SAP support and third-party vendors to resolve complex issues.
-Testing and quality assurance: Participate in system testing phases and work closely with testing teams to identify and resolve issues encountered during testing Ensure that the SAP landscape is stable and meets the required performance and security standards.
-Go-Live support and hypercare: Provide support during the go-live phase to ensure a smooth transition to the production environment. Monitor system performance and stability during the initial weeks post go-live (hypercare period).
-Continuous improvement and optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvements and system optimization. Recommend and implement enhancements to improve system efficiency, performance, and security.
-Compliance and audit support: Ensure that SAP systems comply with internal and external regulatory requirements. Prepare for and support internal and external audits related to SAP systems and processes. Implement corrective actions to address audit findings and improve compliance.

-Work with an agile methodology to deliver solutions in SAP Basis area
-Ensure that BU will receive an IT solution which is state of the art with latest innovations in SAP Basis area
-Support and steer SAP Basis topics
-Control the deliverables if all needed quality standards are fulfilled
-Provide business partner consulting and advisory with the full understanding of business with the required skill set
-Consolidate, qualify, estimate and manage demands
-Support the work package as well as the PM from IT and BU for CR implementation
-Steer and control external vendors

Qualification
•At least 10 years working experience in SAP Basis area, extensive experience with SAP Basis administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance. Experience in working with Automotive industry as an advantage
•Strong knowledge of SAP HANA, SAP NetWeaver and associated components.
•Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementation and migration projects.
•Proficient in SAP system performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high-availability configurations.
•Experience with SAP Solution Manager for monitoring and managing SAP landscapes.
•Knowledge of database administration (e.g. SAP HANA) is highly desirable.
•Familiarity with operating systems such as Unix/Linux and Windows
•Experience with managing ECC, CRM, SCM, TM, EWM, PI/PO as well as S/4 HANA systems
•Experience with managing middleware services e.g. Axway, MQ, etc.
•Excellent communication skill (positive, pro-active and supportive) and good spoken and written English
•Independent working style and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
