Join us as Senior Manager - Partnering & Technology China

Partnering & Technology (P&T) is part of the global Intellectual Property & Licensing (IP&L) function. We support the business by optimizing and securing IP terms within partnership, licensing and R&D collaboration agreements. P&T collaborates closely with internal stakeholders to secure all aspects of IP rights, from alignment on the initial proposal, to the final agreement. You will join a global team and take on regional responsibilities and actively engage with stakeholders.

In this role you’ll make an impact by:

• Support the regional innovation strategy for impact: Drive and support establishment of partnership, collaboration and technology license agreements in China; advice and collaborate with Legal, Business and R&D on agreement structure to enable co-innovation with external partners; support active use of IP to create value for our customers.
• Take ownership of IP compliance and awareness: Responsible for intellectual property terms, in particular IP ownership and use rights, in all contracts in China; plan and conduct IP and agreement training in collaboration with regional Patent and Legal Attorneys.
• Ad hoc involvement in IP analyses, IP due diligence, IP litigation support and verification of royalty payments.

To succeed you must hold:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably natural sciences, alternatively business or legal; advanced degree (MSc, PhD or MBA) preferred
• 3-5 years experience from an innovation-driven environment, knowledge about biosolutions, understanding of IP matters and legal agreements, experience with R&D or business development
• Informal leadership and stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, proficiency in negotiation and project management
• Chinese and English at business negotiation level
• Work independently and proactively; ability to work with stakeholders to create solutions; curious, analytical and strategic mindset; act with pragmatism and integrity
