Main Duties:
• Provide professional design and engineering support to the assigned system or package by using the identified and approved standards and tools as e.g. Engineering Checklists, Document and CAD Standards, company templates.
• Provide supporting input to all aspects of design relating to the assigned system or package and supporting the System Owner or Work Package Owner during the lifetime of the project, regardless of the project phase (e.g. design, procurement, construction, commissioning, validation, handover, close-out)
• Issue the required and assigned design and engineering documents (e.g. diagrams and schematics, drawings, specifications, submittals, ITP’s, commissioning plans) at the agreed and approved dates and following the related company procedures (e.g. Document Control) for internal review. Participate on the review and include the received review comments prior to the document release according at the agreed and approved dates.
• Document and report the changes in the design work throughout the design process
• Support the generation of a comprehensive and complete Bill of Quantity for the assigned work following the project stage (e.g. concept, preliminary, detail design) on the approved company template
• Actively support the project coordination. Provide input to Interdisciplinary coordination documents as advised and / or by following the relevant dates and maintain the provided input information throughout the project in case of changes or availability of details.
• Support input to RFI’s under the assigned system or package
• Review and comment third party design documents on the assigned system or package (e.g. LDI or subcontractor documentation, shop drawings, work plans, JHAs, method statements etc.)
• Support the Tender process by providing tender relevant information to the assigned system or package. Participate in the assigned tender reviews, meetings and provide valuable input. Recommend vendors, review and comment technical bid documents and provide required input to the tender evaluation.
• Collect and issue design and project close-out information for the assigned package or system for review and incorporate comments prior to release.
• Attend the required and scheduled meetings for the packages and systems assigned, attend Department and Section meetings within the organization, trainings and forums.
• Perform site walks for projects when applicable and report accordingly
• Upload and use required engineering and design information from Project and Engineering Portals.
• Provide Lessons Learned input and refer to Lessons Learned input from other projects
Requirement
• Bachelor degree or above, major in Electrical / Electronics/Power distribution Engineering;
• Knowledge with large power system designs, system fault level analysis and relay protection studies would be an added advantage
• Knowledge of Chinese local codes and IEC standards
• Design Institute internship experience will be preferred
• Be familiar with AutoCAD, MS word and excel
• Fluent in both written and spoken English
• Open-minded and eager to learn;
• Good communication skills
• Willing to travel and relocate to project site when required
