Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure local unit has the necessary capabilities to effectively control products and systems. Each day, you will ensure compliance with internal, customer, and industry requirements within a cost-effective and safe working environment. You will also showcase your expertise by developing and implementing standards and test methods to ensure only compliant products, software, and services are released to the customer.
This role is contributing to the ELSP (smart power) business in Xiamen, China.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Quality Assurance
Works with local management teams to: prevent mistakes and defects in products and avoid problems when delivering solutions or services to customers, focus on issue prevention rather than just control, establish customer and stakeholder needs/expectations, drive the utilization of process management across the local business to deliver consistent results, minimizing variation and maximizing efficiencies.
Support company QA team to meet the Quality Management System (ISO 9001/HAF003) - Quality Control
Ensures effective quality control are in place to meet customer and stakeholder requirements through the whole quality value chain: Supplier Quality, Internal Process Quality, Customer Quality.
Performs audits and ensures the use of analytics of Quality data from all parts of the operation to identify risks, failures and nonconformances within the local business, its suppliers and customers. Ensures that appropriate corrective and preventive actions are taken and solutions are managed to closure - Quality Governance
Deploy and maintain the local Quality Management System to provide the local business with policies, regulations and processes that sufficiently describe the value chain activities.
Monitoring Quality KPI (Supplier PPM, Internal DPmU, Field DPmU) and leading the related continuous improvement to meet the LPG and global business target
“Quality win” project implementation and sustainability in LPG
LPG quality circle to make sure all aspects managed in line with ABB Group/Division/PG guidance. - Voice of the Customer
Ensures the Voice of the Customer is represented within the local business & the requirement of the customer is appropriately satisfied. Challenge the management team with customer experience feedback and input to decisions. Enable and coach all employees to evaluate risks, problems and solutions from a customer/stakeholder point of view. - People Leadership and Development
Enables, with the support of HR, that the local Quality team is sustainably staffed, developed and directed in line with ABB Group guidance to provide support and leadership for the Quality activities that support the local business
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor’s degree or above, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering/Technical background is preferred
- Familiar with quality management system and application of related standards, with 10 years working experience in factory and more than 5 years in people management.
- Familiar with low voltage assembly or products, eg, LV Switchgear, ACB are preferred.
- A good understanding of quality management and quality tools, L6S Green Belt or above is preferred
- Be fluent in both written and spoken English
- A good understanding of crisis management due to quality issues is preferred
